Part1

Concept

Overview

The story originates when Detective Howard receives a commissioned case. Alice, a student at Goldsmiths College, claims her graduation work has been stolen. So Howard entrusted the case to "I", as a trainee detective and a student of Goldsmiths College. The QR code in the email leads the player into an AR world, linking the storyline through AR technology, and ultimately reveals that Alice never finished her graduation work, but only misreported the case out of pressure.

*Inspired by brief storyline generated by ChatGPT

Background

An AR-powered detective adventure unraveling the mysteries of art, rebellion, and institutional secrets within the iconic Goldsmiths University campus.

The story highlights the impact of the academic system on students by revealing Alice's creative difficulties and why she chose to fabricate the theft because she was unable to complete her work. In this story, a fictional anti-establishment organization is also mentioned, which represents a kind of protest and criticism against the academic establishment. As an art education institution, the college has its own inherent rules and regulations and expectations for academic achievement. However, this system may also put certain pressures and restrictions on students' creative freedom and personality development, making some students feel unable to truly express their opinions and creativity.

User Journey

Because we separate the whole story into four parts, everyone has a more clear responsibility. And they can work on their project on a laptop individually so we can cooperate remotely. Thus we need a homepage to connect separate projects. Except for emerging the video that starts the story and the sublimation video that ends the story, we also use the UI button to let the player jump to three parts by long pressing. When they complete each part by order, they can come back to homepage, where the detective, acting as a system prompt, will remind them to go on next part.
